Founded in Barcelona (Spain) in 1992, the association brings together doctoral students and language researchers, who do not hold a doctorate. According to its statutes, this association has the following objectives:

1. To advance the study of Linguistics in all its facts and to promote communication among young researchers in this discipline within the Spanish state.
2. To foster the recognition of Linguistics as an autonomous discipline.
3. To support the dissemination of ongoing research through scientific meetings, publications and other initiatives.
4. To encourage cultural exchange by promoting linguistic studies of the different languages of the Peninsula.
   

Each year, the Association of Young Linguists organizes a meeting for young language researchers. At this event, participants will have the opportunity to present their projects as well as the results of their research.
